Ian Macleod Distillers (IMD) has signed a distribution agreement with J&G Grant to represent its Highland Single Malt whisky brand Glenfarclas in global travel retail, effective yesterday (1 July).
This agreement allows IMD to add the J&G Grant-owned Glenfarclas range to its global travel retail portfolio.

The move reinforces the established partnership between the two companies, who have long co-owned Scotland’s largest independent bottler, Broxburn Bottlers.
Ian Macleod Distillers Head of Global Travel Retail William Ovens said, “Glenfarclas is hugely respected and highly rated by discerning single malt drinkers and a fantastic addition to our portfolio.
“This development creates an even stronger portfolio of multi-award-winning super-premium single malts, comprising Glengoyne Highland Single Malt, Tamdhu Speyside Single Malt, Rosebank Lowland Single Malt, Smokehead Islay Single Malt and now, of course, Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt.
“Through our extensive distribution network, we supply all international regions and just about all multi-national travel retail operators and many regional operators,” he added. “We are confident that, given the scale of Glenfarclas and its loyal following, the brand will prove to be a real hit with our extensive customer base.”
J&G Grant Head of Sales Duncan Grant added, “Glenfarclas is more than whisky, it’s a celebration of Scottish craftsmanship. We are excited to embark on this venture with Ian Macleod Distillers.
“As family-owned whisky businesses, we share many similar values and look forward to the extension of our very positive relationship to the global travel retail channel and the opportunities the agreement will present to our valued customers.”

Through this partnership, IMD’s Travel Retail team and J&G Grant have crafted a channel-exclusive Glenfarclas range, which includes two expressions: 11 Years Old 1-litre (RSP £49.99/US$69) and 16 Years Old 70cl (RSP £79.99/US$110).
Bottled at 46% ABV, the single malts are non-chill filtered and natural in colour, setting them apart from their domestic counterparts.
Complementing the range are the Glenfarclas 105 1-litre (RSP £69.99/US$51 ), the first-ever cask strength whisky release, and the Glenfarclas 35 Years Old 70cl (RSP £765/US$1,051).
The line-up will be enhanced by a range of single casks developed for travel retail.
Founded in 1836, Glenfarclas is a Highland Single Malt whisky produced by the sixth generation of the Grant family.
Based in Speyside, the Glenfarclas Distillery is the region’s oldest family-owned distillery best known for its rich, sherry-cask-matured whiskies made in the traditional Speyside style.
Located on the foot of Ben Rinnes, the distillery preserves its traditional methods, using direct-fired stills and ageing its whiskies in the finest oloroso sherry casks to deliver consistently high quality. ✈
