MACAU. DFS Group hosted the tenth edition of its acclaimed Masters of Time exhibition on 7-8 December, with an anniversary collection that highlighted craftsmanship, design and innovation in timepieces and jewellery.
This year’s exhibition, titled ‘Masters of Time X’, was revealed at T Galleria by DFS, Macau, Shoppes at Four Seasons. The collection will be available for viewing and purchase in Macau from 7 December until 28 February 2019, before travelling to a selection of DFS T Galleria stores around the world.

The 2018 DFS Masters of Time X collection features over 450 exceptional, rare watches and exclusive jewellery masterpieces from 30 brands including Bvlgari, Franck Muller, Hublot, IWC, Jaquet Droz, Piaget, Roger Dubuis, Tag Heuer, Ulysse Nardin and Zenith. This year, to mark the anniversary, several pieces were created especially for DFS and Masters of Time.

The special anniversary event began on Friday with a multi-sensory dining experience featuring a 5-Michelin star menu created by celebrated Chef Raf Alajmo, and attended by nearly 200 international media, VIP guests, celebrities and brand ambassadors.
The four-course experience unfolded on the performance stage of the Venetian Theatre, accompanied by a bespoke digital installation that took guests on a sensory journey of taste, sight, travel and discovery. Inspired by Masters of Time X’s theme of refraction, the installation explored the speed of light and its relationship to time, featuring spectacular visual effects of light on precious metals and gems.

On Saturday, over 500 guests attended a gala event against a backdrop of fine jewellery and timepieces gathered from around the world by DFS. Continuing the multi-sensory journey within the Venetian Theatre, guests were invited to explore five walk-in showcases hosted by Bvlgari, Franck Muller, Hublot, Jaquet Droz and Ulysse Nardin.
Each case was transformed into an immersive experience that highlighted each brand’s ‘DNA’ and craftsmanship through visual and interactive storytelling. The gala event culminated in a memorable acrobatic performance from an international aerial troupe.

Among the guests were actress Charmaine Sheh and leading-edge fashion designer Phillip Lim, who flew in from New York to share styling tips on fashion with fine jewellery and timepieces. Russian luxury graffiti artist Pokras Lampas demonstrated his live drawing technique, incorporating his DFS-exclusive MOT X design. Also in attendance were DFS Masters of Time ambassador Carson Chan, Hong Kong’s most notable watch collector, and Eric Ku, an authority on vintage Rolexes.

“In this tenth year of DFS’ Masters of Time, the desires of our customers were more than ever at the heart of our carefully curated collection of fine jewellery and exceptional watches,” said DFS Group Senior Vice President, Watches and Jewelry Matthew Green.
“We took great pride in selecting these masterpieces from our leading brand partners to delight our customers, regardless of whether this is their first or tenth experience of Masters of Time. The Masters of Time X anniversary collection is an unmissable exhibition of some of the most remarkable watch and jewellery pieces available today.”
