iPhone 18 debuts at Shanghai Pudong International Airport amid global launch

CHINA. A series of new Apple products made their debut today (18 September) at the Apple Premium Partner duty-free store at Shanghai Pudong International Airport as part of a global launch. These include the eagerly-anticipated iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

The China Duty Free Group-operated store, branded my StudiO cdf, opened on 3 September as reported. The new Apple lineup launched today also includes the Apple Watch Ultra 4 and Apple Watch S12.

China’s first airport Apple Premium Partner airport duty-free store enables travellers to experience and purchase the full range of Apple products with exclusive duty-free pricing, CDFG said.

On product launch day, the store saw increased traffic with many Apple enthusiasts making special trips to browse and make purchases, the retailer added.

The store’s one-stop process covers consultation, payment, pickup, and after-sales support, and is designed to tap into the high-end digital consumption demand during waiting times for passengers.

Following the iPhone 18 series launch, the Mac mini M6 and Mac Studio M5 Max will go on sale globally on 22 September. On 23 October, the store will launch the highly anticipated iPhone Duo on the same day as its global release.

“The opening of the Pudong Airport Apple Premium Partner duty-free store, timed with Apple’s Fall global launch, reflects our push to improve our airport offerings,” CDFG said in a statement. “We will continue partnering with leading global tech brands to bring new products into Pudong Airport, offering travellers more high-quality retail options and support Shanghai’s development as a vital duty-free consumption hub.”
