JFKIAT and Delta unveil extension to New York JFK Terminal 4

USA. Terminal operator JFKIAT and Delta Air Lines are today unveiling 11 new gates and 75,000sq ft of additional space at New York JFK Airport Terminal 4.

The US$175 million project in Pier B completes phase two of a US$1.2 billion investment to enhance and expand the terminal. That expansion saw concessions space leap by an initial 40,000sq ft from May 2013, with further additions in 2014 and more retail and food & beverage openings planned in 2015.

The changes were triggered by Delta’s move to T4 in 2013, and included the shift in almost all commercial activity from landside to airside.

As a result, key concessionaire partners such as DFS, Hudson and SSP gained new, upgraded space at T4.

With this latest 11-gate expansion, Delta is relocating a majority of its Delta Connection flights at JFK from Terminal 2 to the expanded Concourse B in T4. The new gates will feature enclosed jetways and offer customers proximity to its flagship Sky Club and access to chef-inspired restaurants and other commercial offers in T4.

We’ll bring you further news on this extension soon, plus a full report on the T4 expansion in our forthcoming Print Edition.
