JR Watch Company opens boutique at Melbourne Airport

AUSTRALIA. JR Watch Co., a division of the James Richardson Group, has opened a luxury watch boutique at Melbourne Airport’s newly expanded International Terminal.

Among the brands on offer are Omega, Cartier, IWC, Breitling, Breitling for Bentley, Tiffany, Chopard, Dior, Baume and Mercier, Longines, Frederique Constant, Rado, Tissot and CK by Calvin Klein.

Melbourne Airport CEO Chris Woodruff said the luxury retailer’s decision to open in the International Terminal showed confidence in the strength of the Melbourne market.

“Melbourne Airport continues to experience strong international passenger growth, up +18% in January compared to January last year,” Woodruff said. “Our A$330 million expansion has delivered a world class retail space to Melbourne Airport and takes international airport shopping to a new level.”

JR Group Director Evelyn Danos said: “Travellers will be absolutely delighted with what is on offer -a full and appealing range of watches, including exclusive brands that aren’t currently available at Australian airports.

“The collection is beautifully housed in an inviting, open-fronted space and offers tempting treats, perfect for that last minute gift for loved ones or for spoiling yourself.”

The expanded international terminal has so far seen 11 new retail offerings and a Café Vue food & beverage unit open.
