Kiehl’s underlines commitment to customer and community service – 05/07/06

HONG KONG. The L’Oréal group’s lifestyle cosmetics brand Kiehl’s has emphasised its commitment to maintaining its high level of customer and community service in travel retail.

As previously revealed by The Moodie Report, the brand made its debut in the channel, at Hong Kong International (HKIA) in conjunction with Nuance-Watson, in May.

Remi Chapadaux, General Manager of L’Oréal Luxury Products Division for Travel Retail Asia-Pacific, commented: “We are very proud of having found such a great location to introduce this fantastic company into our travel retail environment.

“We are excited to maintain Kiehl’s unique spirit in all its aspects: its origins as a New York-born and bred company, its relationship with the community, and its strident commitment to service of the individual.”

Through the ‘Mission of Kiehl’s’, staff are asked to endeavour at all times to serve their customers, their communities and one another to the best of their abilities. In accordance with that objective, Kiehl’s regularly develops initiatives which support local charity associations.

In Hong Kong all proceeds from Kiehl’s Grapefruit Hand & Body Cleanser will benefit AIDS Concern Hong Kong.

“Our new shop will maintain Kiehl’s commitment to supporting charity actions and to developing specific events for our neighbourhood, including airport staff and air crew,” explained Jacques Gouallou, Division Manager in charge of Kiehl’s travel retail development in Asia Pacific.

“We will also maintain a year-round partnership with Camp Quality Hong Kong, a charity which supports children diagnosed with cancer by enabling them to cope with their illness, yet enjoy their childhood.”

The 25sq m HKIA store incorporates the key Kiehl’s elements, notably:
– simple, no-frills packaging
– a commitment to education via personal consultations
– generous sampling, in line with Kiehl’s “try before you buy” philosophy.

Kiehl’s is located in the East Hall, Level 6, at HKIA. Opening hours are 8am to 11pm.
