Lagardère Group sharpens focus on travel retail as sale of Lagardère Studios is completed

FRANCE. As part of what it calls its “strategic refocusing” around Lagardère Travel Retail and Lagardère Publishing, the Lagardère group has completed the sale of Lagardère Studios to Mediawan. The move was first announced on 22 June.

Lagardère Studios posted total revenue of €218 million in 2019. The transaction valued the business at approximately €100 million.

“Our strategy is concentrated on two priority areas: Lagardère Publishing, our power engine, and Lagardère Travel Retail, our growth engine,” said Lagardère SCA General and Managing Partner of Arnaud Lagardère earlier this year

The link with Mediawan will strengthen the position of the combined entity as a leading European audiovisual production player and will enable Lagardère Studios to embark upon a new development phase, the group noted in June.
