THE NETHERLANDS. Lagardère Travel Retail has taken over the operation of the 28 Smullers fast food outlets located across Dutch railway stations.
The units were previously operated by Dutch Rail and the transfer was finalised on 1 February, following a tender process completed in August 2018. A new look and feel will be rolled out in due course, Lagardère Travel Retail said.

All 400 employees involved have been re-employed by Lagardère Travel Retail on similar terms as they were previously hired.
“We are very pleased with the smooth integration of these 400 new employees and the launch of the Foodservice activity in the Netherlands,” said Lagardère Travel Retail EVP Foodservice Mélanie Guilldou.
“We are very excited about bringing this new local brand into our portfolio, that fits so nicely with the needs of Dutch travellers.”
