MALAYSIA. Malaysia Airports has launched its annual ‘Licence to Win’ shopping campaign which runs from 1 August to 31 January 2020.
Shoppers and diners at Malaysia’s international airports have the chance to win a McLaren 570S Coupé as well as other major prizes. Entrants must spend at least RM250 (US$60) in a single receipt in any retail outlet at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Penang International Airport, Kota Kinabalu International Airport, Langkawi International Airport or Kuching International Airport.

To mark the campaign, Malaysia Airports unveiled the McLaren 570S Coupé at a party at the city’s Sentul Depot, which was transformed into a racing car environment for the evening. It was attended by leading Kuala Lumpur personalities including Marion Caunter, Awal Ashaari, Scha Al-Yahya and Aliff Satar, with a show by rapper Zamaera and tunes by DJ IRAMA.

Malaysia Airports Senior General Manager of Commercial Services Nazli Aziz said the campaign aims to reward shoppers while highlighting the diverse selection of commercial offers available.
“This initiative perfectly aligns with our Commercial Reset strategy, a key initiative to transform our airports from mere transportation hubs to premiere lifestyle destinations,” he said.
“As of June 2019, the number of passengers at our international airports in Malaysia for the January to June period grew by +4.2% compared to the same period last year. This saw a total of 43.4 million passengers passing through our doors, signifying the opportunity for growth in airport retail. With retail incentives such as ‘Licence To Win’, we hope to further entice airport guests to shop and enhance their total airport experience by offering lucrative prizes,” added Nazli.

This year, the ‘Licence to Win’ campaign introduces a bonus prize for one shopper in the form of a Ducati Monster 821 Superbike, exclusively for shoppers who spend RM250 in a single receipt at Malaysia’s regional airports.
Other prizes include:
*A McLaren VIP Paddock Experience in Singapore for two plus two return business class flight tickets to Singapore worth RM100,000;
*Malaysia Airlines flight tickets worth RM80,000, RM60,000 and RM40,000 respectively;
*Monthly prize giveaways such as RM1,000 gift vouchers from Boost E-Wallet or Petron Miles Points.

Those who spend a minimum of RM1,000 and RM500 can instantly redeem an exclusive Malaysia Airports ‘Kembara Bag’ or duty free bag respectively. Guests can also increase their chances of winning when they spend with any of the ‘Licence To Win’ campaign partners, namely Maybank, Eraman, Boost, Malaysia Airlines and Petron.

This year’s edition also sees the introduction of digital entry submissions through the campaign’s official website, alongside manual entries via contest entry forms or digital kiosks (at KLIA).
In September the McLaren 570S Coupé will be displayed at the KLIA main terminal while the Ducati Monster 821 Superbike will be displayed at Penang and Langkawi airports respectively.
