Lindt & Sprüngli takes ‘Flavours of the World’ to Bali with new ube-inspired expression

Zurich Airport will host an exclusive pre-launch for Lindt Bali Style Chocolate in October, ahead of a roll-out to selected global travel retail locations from November

Lindt & Sprüngli Global Travel Retail is expanding its ‘Flavours of the World. Created by Lindt’ series with Lindt Bali Style Chocolate. The expression combines milk chocolate with ube, cashew and coconut filling, caramel pieces and vanilla.

The launch follows on previous releases, Lindt Dubai Style Chocolate and Lindt Tokyo Style Chocolate. Lindt said the series draws on destination-inspired ingredients and flavours to bring novelty and discovery to the confectionery category.

Lindt Bali Style Chocolate takes inspiration from the culinary diversity and flavours of Southeast Asia. Ube is a purple yam originating in the Philippines and used in desserts in Bali. The ube for Lindt’s new bar is sourced from Indonesia.

The chocolate’s distinctive flavour profile features notes of vanilla, pistachio, hazelnut, chestnut, coconut and buttery caramel.

Its vivid purple colour is reflected in the filling and product imagery, while the packaging uses a blush-pink, berry and gold palette.

The bar will have an exclusive pre-launch at Zurich Airport in October before rolling out to selected global travel retail locations from November. It will be available exclusively in global travel retail and Lindt retail stores until the end of the year.

Lindt will offer travel retail partners and industry guests a first taste of handcrafted bars at the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes (27 September – 1 October).

Lindt & Sprüngli CEO Global Travel Retail Peter Zehnder said: “Travel retail is an environment where the journey itself shapes what people are open to discovering. With ‘Flavours of the World. Created by Lindt’, we want to create something travellers come to recognise and look forward to seeing in new destinations.

“Bali Style builds on that through ube, a flavour many travellers may still be discovering for the first time. We are delighted to offer our retail partners the very first taste of our latest creation in Cannes.” ✈
