Loch Lomond Group has announced the expansion of its global travel retail team with the creation of two new roles.
Kelvin Ng has been appointed to the new Hong Kong-based role of Regional Director Asia Travel Retail, effective February 2020. This will see him take charge of expanding the distiller’s presence in the Asia Pacific travel retail market.
Ng has previously worked in the travel retail and domestic market for companies including Halewood Wines & Spirits, MG Cellars and William Grant & Sons. He said: “I am very pleased to be appointed to this newly created role for Loch Lomond Group. I am looking forward to helping to offer a more diverse range of single malt Scotch whiskies to consumers travelling across Asia and to expanding the company’s footprint within the region.”
Loch Lomond is also recruiting for a Global Travel Retail Commercial & Trade Marketing Executive. The successful candidate will have responsibility for developing customer relationships, implementing a global brand strategy and supporting new product development in the Scotland-based role.
Loch Lomond Group Global Travel Retail Managing Director André de Almeida said: “The global travel retail channel is a fundamental part of Loch Lomond Group’s growth strategy and the creation of these two new roles highlights our continued investment in this area.
“The strengthening of our team will significantly support our global travel retail operations worldwide and will help to facilitate further expansion into the channel on a global scale.”
The distiller has been aiming to expand its Asian operations in recent years. In 2019, the company secured its first listings with China Duty Free Group (CDFG) and established new Chinese headquarters. The company will also exhibit at May’s TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference taking place in Singapore.
