US. Los Angeles International airport posted a -8.7% decrease in passenger traffic to 56,223,843 in 2002 with domestic passenger numbers down -9.4% providing the biggest drag on growth. International traffic was down -6.9%, domestic charter traffic was down -46.9% from a small base and regional domestic commuter traffic was up +15.9%. By comparison total traffic at Ontario International, the other major airport in the Los Angeles system, was down -4.8% to 472,800.
