SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free has rolled out its annual winter shopping campaign targeting Koreans preparing for year-end overseas travel.
The Luxury Winter Holiday promotions aim to drive engagement both in-store and online, offering customers the chance to win travel packages to key seasonal destinations, including Rovaniemi in Finland, Sapporo in Japan and Bali in Indonesia.

Rovaniemi in northern Finland is popular for aurora viewing and visits to Santa Claus Village, Sapporo’s snow-covered streets create a festive winter setting, while Bali offers a warm-weather alternative with its beaches and lush natural surroundings.
Korean customers can enter the prize draw by spending US$300 at Lotte Duty Free’s downtown stores by 31 December. Total prizes amount to KRW14 million (US$9,670), with the top prize offering a six-night, eight-day trip for two to Finland, including Santa Claus Village and a Northern Lights experience.
The second prize offers a two-night, three-day getaway to Sapporo for one winner and a companion, while five third-prize winners gain free admission and skate rental at Lotte World Ice Rink.
The campaign also extends to Lotte Duty Free’s online platform, offering customers a -10% discount code for reservations at Bali’s Kempinski Hotel.
Korean shoppers who spend KRW100,000 (US$69) via KakaoPay during the campaign and complete duty-free product pickup by 31 December can enter the prize draw for a two-night stay at Kempinski Bali for two.
To offset high exchange rates, customers at Lotte Duty Free’s downtown stores can earn LDF Pay rewards of up to KRW1.51 million (US$1,042) on weekends, depending on their chosen payment method, through 31 December.
Lotte Duty Free will provide LDF Pay rewards for fashion, watch and jewellery purchases at its Myeong-dong flagship and World Tower stores in Seoul, as well as at its Jeju store, while the Busan location offers rewards across all categories.
The retailer will also run a Black Friday sale from 7-30 November, offering discounts of up to -70% on products from 30 brands, including Givenchy Beauty, Jill Stuart, NARS and Urban Decay.
Customers will be offered discount coupons of up to -15% during the campaign period, with further discounts available through affiliated airlines and payment partners.
A Lotte Duty Free spokesperson said: “We have prepared various events, including prize draws, to give customers planning year-end overseas trips the joy of duty-free shopping. We will continue to expand customer benefits through diverse promotions in the future.” ✈
