SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free has opened a promotional zone at its flagship store in Myeong-dong, Seoul to celebrate the Korea Beauty Festival, which is being held until 30 June.
Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Visit Korea Year Committee, the month-long event is part of a tourism marketing campaign to attract more foreign visitors. It features an array of themed experiences and offerings from various K-beauty brands and retailers across different locations in the capital.

Aside from its dedicated Korea Beauty Festival space at its Myeong-dong downtown store, Lotte Duty Free has prepared various programmes and promotional offers for tourists.
Visitors are invited to experience different activities organised in partnership with five popular K-beauty brands on the 13th floor of the retailer’s Myeong-dong store.
Among these experiences were beauty masterclasses hosted by Jungsaemmool and Vidivici on the 14 and 18 June, respectively. The sessions have received positive feedback from the attendees, noted Lotte Duty Free.

Highlighting the latest K-beauty trends and styles, the masterclasses included a 50-minute makeup demonstration session attended by customers from more than ten countries, including China and the Philippines.
The event allowed participants to gain a deeper understanding of Korean culture and beauty trends, Lotte Duty Free said.
The travel retailer added that it plans to offer a skincare seminar in partnership with beauty brand ISOI for foreign tourists on 20 June at its Myeong-dong store.

In addition, Lotte Duty Free is offering shopping incentives for customers at its downtown store which are being promoted on the official website of the Korea Beauty Festival.
Until 30 June, the travel retailer is providing foreign customers with an LDF membership gold-level upgrade, KRW10,000 (US$7) in Pre-LDF PAY that can be used for payments worth over US$50, and discounts ranging from a minimum of US$11 to US$88 depending on the purchase amount. Customers can also receive free mask packs.
A Lotte Duty Free official said: “Lotte Duty Free has also prepared various events to successfully attract the Korea Beauty Festival and revitalise tourism in Korea. Through this festival, K-beauty tourism will be revitalised and more customers will visit Lotte Duty Free.”
As reported, Lotte Duty Free has opened a Snoopy Market pop-up concept at its Now in Myeong-dong experiential duty-free shopping showroom in Seoul.

The themed pop-up, which runs until 14 August, features the famous anthropomorphic beagle character from the classic comic strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz.
Lotte Duty Free transformed the entire Now in Myeong space into a Snoopy Market concept, featuring thematic photo zones and rest areas, as well as more than 500 colourful Snoopy products.
The retailer noted the increasing popularity of the pop-up store, which also offers limited-edition Snoopy-themed F&B offerings including marshmallow ice cream, cookies, coffee and drinks.
Visitors at the Now in Myeong-dong store also get the opportunity to win special rewards through a lucky draw.
