– The 12 Days of (Duty Free) Christmas – Traditional (almost)
![]() |
INTERNATIONAL. Nominations are coming in from around the airport world as The Moodie Report’s second annual hunt for the industry’s best Christmas tree heats up (or cools down, depending on which part of the world the tree is located).
As our Editors tour the globe we’ll be snapping shots of the trees that take our fancy. We’ve got our own 12-point ranking system, one for each of the famed days of the Christmas period. Now even more contenders are emerging.
But even The Moodie Report can’t cover the whole world before Christmas, so please send us images of your tree (or of any you spot) via Martin@TheMoodieReport.com
Below you can see several of the examples we’ve discovered and ranked to date. Caviar House & Prunier’s “small but perfectly formed” tree at Geneva Airport, spotted by The Moodie Report’s very own Connie Magner, has just eased into top spot alongside an amazing pine forest at LuleÃ¥ Airport, Sweden, both with a tasty ten out of a maximum 12 points. But we’re a bit worried about what’s going on at London Gatwick Airport…

That’s not a tree, it’s a forest! At LuleÃ¥ Airport, Sweden, travellers can view an unusual exhibition of Christmas trees, which have been decorated by celebrities. Passengers can even vote for their favourites. The Christmas tree decorators and Swedavia are also each making a donation to charity to support this brilliant initiative. On grounds of originality alone (especially the middle tree) we score the collection a 10, though we are a little worried for the sanity of the creator of the zany tree on the right |
