M21 Sentiment Index: Singapore attendance adds to confidence – 08/06/04

MOODIE INDICES. In May the M21 Sentiment Index lost a modest 0.5 points (-0.5%) to a value that closed at 99.3, just below its starting value 100.0 set at 1 January 2002.

The Global Trends sector index slid -1.3% on average. The component S&P Global 1200 lost -2.3%; the MSCI World $ fell -2.1% whilst the FTSE Global 100 was down -1.5%.

The Leading Indicators sector index advanced +0.2%.

The Monetary Matters sector declined -2.0% on average. A higher oil price meant that this component inversely fell -6.4% contributing to the decline.

The Conferences sector index (+0.9%) got a boost from the attendance numbers at TFWA in Singapore in May with this component adding +4.9% to its value.
