Adding to its collection of rimless sunglasses with bolder shapes and details, Maui Jim has launched two new styles suitable for outdoor summer activities: Middles (MSRP US$189) and Stone Crushers (MSRP US$189).
Both styles feature an aerodynamic design with light Grilamid temples that curve around larger oval or round faces for a better fit. The frame is said to be highly durable with non-slip Rubberon temple inserts that provide extra grip, and adjustable nose pads to prevent slippage.
Similar in design, Middles has a modified rectangular lens and Stone Crushers has a rectangular shape with an angular outer edge.
Middles comes in three distortion-free lens colours to maximise performance in various light conditions. The Black Gold frame with Neutral Grey lenses is “a fierce style” that offers the maximum level of light reduction without color distortion for bright, sunny days, Maui Jim said.
The Matte Rootbeer frame with HCL Bronze lenses goes from work to play with a versatile, warm brown tint suitable for any activity and designed to improve vision in variable light conditions. Maui Jim believes that women will love the dressed-up look of the sporty, pearlescent Champagne frame, a new frame colour for the brand. It has Maui Rose lenses, a high-performance, blush-coloured lens for maximum contrast and crisp vision especially during fast action activities, the brand added.
Stone Crushers comes in three colour options: White Pearl with Maui HT lenses, with its palm green lenses to let the right amount of useful light into the eye to improve definition and depth perception without losing polarisation efficiency; Matte Black with Neutral Grey lenses and Matte Rootbeer with HCL Bronze lenses to offer versatile styling for weekends whether users are running a marathon or running errands.
On both styles, the lenses have waterproof and oleophobic coatings to shed water and repel smudges, as well as proprietary Clearshell scratch-resistant coating to reduce scratches. The hardware is anti-corrosive.
All Maui Jim sunglasses feature the company’s PolarizedPlus2 lens technology designed to protect eyes on both sides of each lens. This technology is said to reduce 99.9% of harmful glare from any flat, smooth, or shiny surface, improving vision and giving crisp detail to any view, making it possible to clearly see objects in motion or even below the surface of a body of water.
Additionally, Maui Jim sunglasses claim to cut 100% of UVA and UVB rays. Proprietary bi-gradient mirror technology adds protection from light through the top and bottom of each lens – basically, Maui Jim sunglasses squint for you to reduce eye fatigue, the company explained.
