Mavis expands into travel retail through distribution partnership with Traveller’s Trove

Mavis is soon to land on duty-free shelves, offering a compelling gift appeal

Spanish gourmet snack brand Mavis has made its first foray into travel retail through a partnership with Traveller’s Trove.

Mavis Gourmet has rapidly established itself in the gourmet and premium food distribution sector, featuring in top European retailers such as El Club del Gourmet del Corte Inglés. The brand’s reach now includes North and South America, the GCC and luxury hotel chains, including Hôtel Saint-Marc Paris and Gran Meliá Hotels across Spain, as well as numerous boutique luxury hotels across the country.

Mavis is known for its innovative flavours of roasted pistachios, including Lemon and Salt (above) and Saffron (below)

Travel retail has become a key focus for the brand as it seeks to accelerate growth in 2025.

Mavis Gourmet International Market Developer Ana María Naraghi said: “The nut industry is projected to generate global retail sales of US$65.5 billion in 2024, which is about half the size of global chocolate sales. Yet I travelled through airports over the years, with few exceptions, I was struck at how little shelf space was dedicated to nut products.

“Where nuts are present in travel retail the offer often consists only of brands widely available in mass market distribution and there is a clear lack of a premium offer. Mavis addresses this gap with top-quality product in beautiful award-winning packaging, exclusively distributed through high-end stores.”

The brand won the Best in Food Packaging Award, Alimentaria 2022.

Traveller’s Trove Managing Director Gerry Murray added: “We are honoured to have been selected by Mavis Gourmet to represent their brand in duty free. It is a really exciting opportunity. The brand is ideally placed to satisfy the growing demand for healthier, premium and sustainable snacking and gifting products in the channel.

“The brand’s standout and elegant design elements are carried through in its intriguing gondolas and other merchandising solutions, which will increase footfall and drive incremental sales. With a wide range of spirits & wine pairings the brand also offers a great cross-category promotion and sales opportunity.” ✈
