China debut: MCM wowed the media with a presentation at the brand’s new store at the Park Hyatt in Beijing |
CHINA. German fashion house MCM marked its debut in the mainland Chinese domestic market with a celebratory party at its new Park Hyatt store in Beijing.
The brand’s latest star-studded event, held on 1 September 2008, showcased the Autumn/Winter 08/09 collection to VIPs and top local media, including Vogue, Bazaar, Marie Claire, Self and Elle.
The afternoon brand presentation introduced MCM’s brand history and global business to the guests, and a mini trunk show featured two models showing off four looks from the new collection.
The event had a major interactive element as attendees were invited to try on the clothes and accessories and pose for photos in front of an MCM logo backdrop.
Among the highlighted lines were the black-and-white Diamond Python handbag and the bright red Pop Croco clutch bag.
