COLOMBIA. Motta Internacional SA has been awarded one of the two duty free concessions at the new El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, Colombia, the company announced this week.

The other went to Grupo Wisa, as first reported by Travel Markets Insider.

The new El Dorado Airport is currently under construction and is expected to open in the second half of 2012.

Operadora Aeroportuaria Internacional (OPAIN), the consortium in charge of building and operating the new airport, has stated that the new El Dorado will be the most modern and efficient airport in Latin America. The company estimates that the airport will handle six million international passengers in 2012.

Motta Internacional SA CEO Erasmo Orillac said: “We are extremely pleased that our Attenza stores will continue to service the passengers that travel through Bogotá, and we will be working closely with OPAIN to create a shopping experience like no other in the new El Dorado Airport.”

We’ll bring you further details on the El Dorado concessions soon.
