Noa Noa: A contemporary Danish success story |
DENMARK. Noa Noa, one of Denmark’s leading fashion brands for women and girls, opened its first store at Copenhagen Airport last week.
“We have seen a high level of demand from passengers for more products for children, and we look forward to offering our passengers a broader range of children’s items with the opening of the new Noa Noa store,” said Copenhagen Airports Director of Commercial Activities Henrik Busch.
Noa Noa was founded by Harald Holstein in 1981 as a counter-reaction to the uniform-like styles popular in the 1980s. Soon afterwards his brother Lars joined the company. The Noa Noa Miniature children’s line was launched in 2003.
The brand is sold in more than 18 countries in Europe, and will also be available in Canada from the spring of 2008.

Stirring success: 1,200 cups of coffee a day are made at the first Copenhagen Airport Starbucks outlet |
In related commercial news, a second Starbucks coffee bar opened at Copenhagen Airport on 12 December. The outlet is located in the transit area.
The franchisee, HMSHost, operates the two Starbucks coffee bars at Copenhagen Airport. The Starbucks in the Terminal Three Arrivals area makes 1,200 cups of coffee per day.
General Manager Martin Drescher said: “Our first Starbucks coffee bar, which opened early this autumn in Terminal 3 next to the SAS ticket office, has been very popular. We have received a huge number of favourable reactions from our guests.
“We often see coffee lovers from the entire area flock to Starbucks to taste this delicious American coffee brand – even if they have no other reason to go to the airport. Our sales are higher and more stable than we anticipated, so we are confident that the new Starbucks in the transit area will be a great success as well.”
Added Busch: “Demand for Starbucks coffee has been really high. Starbucks is one of the world’s strongest brands, and it is a brand that many international passengers recognise and identify with.”
