HONG KONG. The Nuance Group (HK), as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, teamed up with non-profit organisation StreetPoppy in a graffiti outreach event over Christmas.
Through the art of graffiti, StreetPoppy reaches out to disadvantaged youth from deprived communities to educate them on values such as humility, courage, and integrity.
StreetPoppy’s Christmas event, held on 13 December 2014, brought together youth participants, art and design students, refugees, and 12 professional communities to produce graffiti art on the theme, “˜The Spirit of Christmas’.
The collaborative effort offered a team-bonding experience in a stress-free environment for the participating corporate employees, which included ten volunteer members from the Nuance team.

All funds raised at the charity event will be donated to KELY Support Group (KELY), a non-government funded bilingual organisation which provides support to youth between the ages of 14 to 24 in Hong Kong.
Alessandra Piovesana, who heads the Asian operations of both Nuance and now Dufry, said: “In the spirit of “˜enriching travel, enriching life’, we feel that StreetPoppy is an exceptionally innovative way of enabling our employees to take a break from the busy work environment and demonstrate their creativity, whilst supporting the Hong Kong community. We warmly encouraged our employees to participate in this event to share our care and festive cheer, our dynamic team spirit and strong service culture.
“CSR is a value that we embrace across all levels of our operations. I am pleased that our employees were very enthusiastic about the meaningful cause and demonstrated their commitment to support the less fortunate in the community.”
The Nuance Group (HK) has been named “˜Caring Company’ by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service for seven consecutive years for its CSR efforts. In addition to its contributions at the corporate level, the company also encourages its employees to actively participate in community initiatives.
Nuance’s CSR initiatives in Hong Kong focus on People, Health & Safety, Quality, Community and Environment. Former initiatives dedicated to nurturing and empowering the young generation include The Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce’s Business School Partnership Programme and Summer Student Internship.
