Nuance-Watson HK launches Tommy Hilfiger and Escada at HKIA

Tommy Hilfiger makes its debut at an Asia Pacific airport with this corner in Hong Kong

HONG KONG. Nuance-Watson (HK) has launched two new brands – Tommy Hilfiger and Escada – at The Plaza and The Atrium stores at Hong Kong International Airport.

Nuance-Watson Asia Regional Managing Director Alessandra Piovesana said: “The non-exclusive character of the General Merchandise licence reflects the constant need to attract, develop and add on winning brands into our stores. [This requires us] to react and adapt rapidly to changes; to stay tuned with market knowledge and the skills to develop store environments [that are] sufficiently flexible and adaptable to nurture new brands and new concepts.”

She added: “The additions of Tommy Hilfiger and Escada are yet another example of our continuous commitment to cementing HKIA’s image as Asia’s finest “˜window to the world’.”

Escada: Another regional first for Nuance-Watson

The addition of Tommy Hilfiger will “satisfy the cosmopolitan male targets for contemporary leisure brands that are international and high quality,” said the retailer.

Nuance-Watson (HK) noted: “Thanks to aggressive large-scale marketing efforts and the opening of major boutiques in prime locations, Tommy Hilfiger is sure to be strongly demanded by affluent Asian urban travellers at HKIA. In addition to an extensive range of leisure and smart casual ready-to-wear, the new Tommy flagship counter will surprise browsers with an exciting line-up of fashionable colours, bold stripes and patterns in both free and leisure styles.”

Tommy Hilfiger Vice President Global Duty Free & Travel Retail Briac Pinault said: “We are delighted with the first ever presence of Tommy Hilfiger in an airport in Asia Pacific. With such a professional and experienced partner as Nuance-Watson (HK), these corners will no doubt be a success.”

The retailer has also enhanced its fashion offer by adding Escada’s more informal range.

A first for Greater China and the Southern Asia region, The Atrium will offer the Escada Basic Collection as well as Escada Sport. Popular items on offer include cardigans, pullovers, polo shirts and blouses made of soft cashmere or lightweight cotton knit.

Escada Hong Kong Ltd. Managing Director Asia Pacific Morten Christensen said: “We’re glad to gain access to the travel retail market by partnering with Nuance-Watson (HK). As travel retail is a unique distribution channel for our brands to [connect with] affluent passengers, we look forward to working even closer with Nuance-Watson (HK) in the near future.”
