Parfums de Paris becomes Art & Fragrance – 16/03/07

SWITZERLAND. Parfums de Paris has regrouped its business activities within a single firm called Art & Fragrance, effective 1 January 2007.

In a related development, Art & Fragrance acquired the Swiss cosmetics brand Ultrasun in January from its founder Tazio Tettamanti.

In a statement to business partners, Art & Fragrance Chief Executive Officer Roger von der Weid explained the new company set-up.

“Art & Fragrance manages all of the brands that were formerly held by Interparfums Holding and PdP Parfums de Paris,” he said. “These two company names do no longer appear in the market.

“Our activities will continue to focus on the creation, development, marketing and global distribution of fine fragrances and cosmetics. We will also remain active in other art-related businesses.”

The subsidiaries and brands of Art & Fragrance include:

Parfums Grès: Cabochard, Cabotine, Caline, Cabaret;
Parfums Alain Delon: Alain Delon, Samouraï;
Jaguar Fragrances
Ultrasun: Develops and distributes skincare products offering UVA/UVB protection.

The acquisition of Ultrasun marks Art & Fragrance’s entry into the cosmetics industry.

Explaining the move, von der Weid said: “This strategic step will have a significant impact on the growth of our business and will enable us to move into new areas of the market and to leverage both existing and new client contacts.

“Art & Fragrance will continue to actively expand its franchise through organic growth, as well as targeted acquisitions and new licensing contracts.”
