Parlux prepares to launch debut Shawn ‘Jay Z’ Carter fragrance

Singer, sports agent and entrepreneur Shawn “˜Jay Z’ Carter will enter the fragrance arena this week, with the introduction of his first men’s eau de toilette, in partnership with Parlux.

The fragrance, GOLD JAY Z, will be launched in Friday 29 November (the day after Thanksgiving, known in the US as Black Friday, regarded as the start of the Christmas shopping season) in key US department stores. The international roll-out is scheduled for 2014.

The juice, created by Carter in partnership with Firmenich nose Ilias Ermenidis, is described as a white fougère. It opens on notes of bergamot, ginger, cardamom, grapefruit and blueberry, building to a heart of violet leaf, cypress, lavender, vetiver and pink pepper. The base blends amber, patchouli, teak and bourbon vanilla.

The flacon is a matte white flask, adorned with the gold-coloured GOLD JAY Z logo. The words “Power”, “Pride”, “Confidence”, “Strength”, “Success” and “Courage” are etched into the cap.

In developing GOLD JAY Z, I wanted to capture both the vibrant ambitious part of Jay Z’s charismatic persona and his effortless style that he naturally embodies through a fusion of notes chosen by Jay Z.”

GOLD JAY Z will be available as 30ml, 50ml and 90ml edt sprays, priced domestically at US$39, US$55 and US$70, respectively.
