Passenger traffic recovery boosts Zürich Airport commercial turnover in first 11 months

SWITZERLAND. Zürich Airport retail and dining turnover climbed by +18.5% year-on-year in the first 11 months of 2021, to CHF260.8 million (US$282.4 million), with airside sales up by +23.6% and landside sales up by +14.8%. The comparable turnover figure from January to November 2019 was CHF548.2 million (US$558.4 million).

Airside spend per departing passenger climbed by +7.6% year-on-year in the first 11 months to CHF25.60 (US$27.72).

In November alone, commercial turnover almost doubled year-on-year to CHF30.5 million (US$33 million), aided by the relative growth in traffic. In November traveller numbers reached more than 1.1 million, a leap of +355% on a year earlier, but this was still half of the November 2019 number (2.2 million).
