Passenger traffic slides by -4.6% at ASUR airports in January

MEXICO. Passenger traffic at the nine Grupo Aeropuertos del Sureste (ASUR) airports in Mexico’s southeast fell by -4.6% year-on-year in January, to 1.58 million.

Passenger volumes at ASUR’s major location, Cancún International, fell by -3% to 1.18 million in the month. Merida Airport was the only location to post growth (+5.9%), with numbers hitting 86,130.

ASUR domestic traffic volumes fell by -5.2% to 556,241 while international traffic dipped by -4.3% to 1.03 million.

International volumes at Cancún fell by -4.6% to 952,314 year-on-year, while at the airport of resort island Cozumel the figure dipped by -0.6% to 35,643.
