PATA launches weekly Asia Pacific travel updates newsletter and dashboard

ASIA PACIFIC. The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has launched the PATA Asia Pacific Snapshot: Weekly Travel Recovery Dashboard. It is a newsletter designed to support its destination members and the wider travel sector by offering an easy, comprehensive guide to new travel experiences and the most current travel policies and restrictions in place across the region.

This initiative is the latest revamp of PATA’s COVID-19 status dashboard launched earlier this year, which we have been covering regularly on The Moodie Daviitt Report.

PATA CEO Liz Ortiguera said: “Clarity on the rapidly evolving travel status and policies spanning the vast array of destinations across Asia Pacific is critical to enabling the industry’s recovery and growth.

“The PATA Asia Pacific Snapshot addresses this issue by providing a simple and clear weekly report about travel policies, pandemic status and the latest news and marketing campaigns for destinations within the region.”

The latest dashboard from the Pacific Asia Travel Association, which shows that of the destinations covered only China, Chinese Taipei, Macau and Japan are still enforcing some level of travel restrictions across the Asia Pacific region. The table also shows the progress of countries with their COVID-19 vaccination programmes.

The newsletter will capture destinations’ latest travel developments on a weekly basis through various sources and will be issued every Wednesday highlighting approximately 20 destinations across the region.

The list of featured destinations in the newsletter will rotate on a weekly basis, with member destinations announcing new updates given priority to be featured in the publication. More detailed information for 40 destinations is available on the PATA website.

PATA member destinations who wish to share the latest official policy updates on travel and status, should contact the organisation at sic@PATA.org.
