Peel Airports launches Altitude pre-pay parking system

UK. Peel Airports Limited, which owns Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Robin Hood Airport Doncaster-Sheffield and Durham Tees Valley Airport, has launched its new “˜Altitude’ airport parking pre-booking and pricing system to maximise revenue from its 14,000 parking spaces

Peel Airports appointed Inventive IT to develop a simple, more effective booking solution for its customers and allow it to be more creative with pricing and promotions. The Altitude pre-booking system went live on 18 March.

Peel Airports Head of Car Parks Business Sammy Patel said: “Altitude has significantly enhanced our ability to control pricing and manage consolidator distribution. With our system we are able to easily and clearly differentiate our products online, and ensure conversion remains high through the use of Altitude’s three-step booking process.

“Within the first week of introduction we have seen a significant increase in average transaction value by up-selling and cross-selling parking products, in addition to significantly high conversion rates from search to transaction completion. Importantly, we are now able to yield pricing appropriate to demand. We are proud to be the launch customer for Altitude and look forward to continuing to work with Inventive to further develop products.”

Inventive IT Managing Director John Charnock added: “The Altitude system simplifies the process of booking parking and add-ons on-line. The back office system gives the airport control of distribution and yield through multiple channels and delivers a platform that can really open up direct distribution through 3rd party affiliates and consolidators. We’ve already started to see financial performance improvements for Peel Airports and fewer enquiries from customers following implementation of the self-service capabilities of Altitude.”
