Pernod Ricard Asia Duty Free and DFS have launched a new travel retail exclusive from The Glenlivet at Changi Airport’s Departure and Arrival halls on 1 May.
The Glenlivet Tombae Single Cask Edition is a new, rare Scotch from the brand’s Single Cask Editions range, and is said to highlight the “subtle, elegant style” of The Glenlivet. The 18yo single malt has been aged in a traditional oak Hogshead, which is one of the oldest types of cask used today.
Each cask edition in this collectable range is non chill-filtered and bottled at cask strength before being presented in the same luxurious bottle and wooden presentation box that houses the ultra-premium and prestige Scotch whiskies of The Glenlivet range.
The Glenlivet Tombae Single Cask Edition is named after the historic church of Tombae in the valley of Glenlivet, not far from The Glenlivet distillery in the heart of Speyside. Built in the 1800s, the church was a focal point for the local community and it is where some of Speyside’s most illustrious citizens are laid to rest.
The Glenlivet Distillery Master Distiller Alan Winchester said: “The Glenlivet Single Cask Editions range is a collection of exceptional hand-selected whiskies that celebrate the unique qualities of The Glenlivet. We are fortunate that the quality of The Glenlivet spirit enables us to create an interesting and varied range, drawing out and enhancing the characteristics of the spirit through ageing in different, hand-selected barrels.”
The Glenlivet Atlantic was the first Scotch in The Glenlivet Single Cask Editions range to be launched in 2005. Specific names have been given to each rare release cask in alphabetical order.
DFS Changi Airport General Manager Parker Gundersen said: “Our key focus at DFS is always to offer our patrons the best and most exclusive products available in the market. Pernod Ricard has been a long-time supporter of our strategy and this is an exciting example of our brand alignment. We feel incredibly privileged to have secured an entire cask exclusively for travellers in Changi Airport.”
The Glenlivet Tombae Single Cask Edition retails for US$315.
