Designer Scotch: Chivas 12 by Christian Lacroix brings a fashionable spirit to the DFS store at Changi Airport

Christian Lacroix is one of France’s most famous and mercurial fashion designers. The fashion house that bears his name was once part of French luxury goods group LVMH but now belongs to the Falic Group, which owns US travel retail chain Duty Free Americas.

The house filed for creditor protection in May after it was hit hard by the financial crisis. According to Reuters, Gulf investor Hassan bin Ali al-Nuaimi (a nephew of the ruler of Ajman in the UAE), submitted an offer for a minority stake in Christian Lacroix earlier this month.
