AUSTRALIA. Perth Airport has marked three decades of partnership with hospitality and retail operator Delaware North, reflecting on the progress and developments that have shaped their long-standing relationship.
From its first outlet at Perth Airport, Café Tre Volo, Delaware North has expanded its presence by opening an average of at least one venue each year, introducing new food & beverage concepts and continuing to invest in the passenger experience.

The partnership’s growth is also reflected in its workforce, which has expanded from around 30 employees to more than 320.
Industry accolades have marked the partnership’s progress, including two Asia Pacific titles at the FAB Awards 2024: Airport Bar or Pub of the Year for Otherside Brew Lounge and Airport Coffee or Tea Shop of the Year for Coffee Quarter.

The Hungry Jack’s outlet in the Virgin Australia Terminal also stood out in 2024, recognised as Australia’s highest-performing franchise within the brand based on customer feedback, food safety, quality and operational standards.
Notably, Delaware North maintained its services during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping Perth Airport continue to accommodate essential travel while many airports worldwide faced operational restrictions.

Perth Airport Chief Commercial and Aviation Officer Kate Holsgrove said, “The partnership has also benefitted from longstanding local leadership, with Brad Counsel and Tony Shead having dedicated 23 and 24 years, respectively, to Delaware North’s Perth Airport operation.”
Delaware North Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Gary Brown added: “Perth Airport has been an important part of Delaware North’s story in Australia for three decades. We are proud of what we have built together, from a single café to an award-winning portfolio of hospitality and retail experiences.
“This milestone reflects the strength of our partnership with Perth Airport and the incredible contribution of the team members, past and present, who have helped create memorable experiences for travellers every day.”
