Philip Morris International Duty Free (PMIDF) presented recent portfolio innovations for Marlboro as well as ideas for consumer engagement tailored to meet the evolving needs of LAS (legal age smokers) travellers at the TFWA Asia Pacific exhibition last week.
According to PMIDF, the menthol and capsule product segment is “particularly appreciated” in the Asia Pacific region as it offers “innovative taste sensations to adult smokers”. Leveraging on the success of variants such as Marlboro Ice Blast and Marlboro W-Burst, which offer a cooling taste by clicking one or two capsules, PMIDF said it aims to further offer tangible differentiation through new technological and unexpected innovations.
Making its debut in travel retail at the show were the new Marlboro Kretek Fusion and Marlboro Mint Fusion, recently launched in the Singapore and Malaysia domestic markets. These products are said to offer “a new dimension in taste sensation”, the company said.
PMIDF Director Marketing Svetlana Konovalenko commented: “Memorable brand experience and relevant product differentiation is crucial to ensure continued satisfaction for LAS, who are looking for a customisation of the smoking experience.”
