Plaza Premium Group marks European debut of First lounge concept at Rome Fiumicino Airport

The new lounge concept adds a premium passenger offering at Italy’s busiest airport

ITALY. Global airport hospitality services provider Plaza Premium Group (PPG) has unveiled its First lounge concept at Leonardo da Vinci Rome Fiumicino Airport, marking the brand’s European debut.

The opening represents a strategic milestone in the company’s regional expansion, bringing its signature hospitality experience to travellers through an elevated lounge concept.

The 700sq m space offers bespoke dining, curated cocktails, premium wines & spirits, refined interiors and immersive cultural displays.

The launch was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Plaza Premium Group Founder and CEO Song Hoi See. He was joined by Aeroporti di Roma CEO Marco Troncone, Chief Commercial Officer Marilena Blasi and Chief Infrastructure Officer Andrea Giordano.

Plaza Premium Group’s senior leadership team were also in attendance, including Deputy CEO Bora İşbulan, Senior Vice President EMEA Okan Küfeci and Vice President Southern Europe Analia Marinoff.

Plaza Premium First Rome delivers an enhanced airport lounge experience, with premium amenities and distinct Roman-inspired features.

Launched in 2018, the concept has expanded globally, with flagship locations in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Macau, Vancouver and most recently, Phnom Penh, with more locations set to open in Riyadh, Dallas and New York.

Italy-inspired hospitality

Inspired by La Dolce Vita, the lounge’s design combines refined Italian living with Plaza Premium Group’s signature style. 

Blending premium comfort with Roman style, the venue features natural light, warm hues and handcrafted textures.

Well-lit, thoughtfully furnished spaces are complemented by sweeping runway views

The space uses classical proportions, travertine oak and bronze accents, with curated art showcasing Italian craftsmanship and travel culture.

Biophilic features and efficient lighting enhance wellbeing while reflecting Plaza Premium Group’s human-centric design.

Other key features include concierge service, private suites for rest and work, wireless charging, and 3D augmented-reality headsets offering virtual tours of Rome’s streets or behind the scenes at Cinecittà Studios.

The experience extends to an al fresco patio with rotating music sets and live DJ performances, where guests can enjoy drinks. 

The lounge also includes family-friendly spaces, including a dedicated nursery area.

Guests can enjoy Italian art, with exhibitions and curated installations offered in collaboration with a local gallery.

The Rome lounge serves Italian and international cuisine using locally sourced ingredients, alongside a selection of signature aperitivos. The Primo Dining Room offers an exclusive à la carte dining menu.

Guests at the Aero Bar can enjoy cocktails crafted by mixologists, regional wines, espresso and desserts.

Plaza Premium First’s Signature Cocktail Programme offers welcome mocktails and locally inspired creations, including the Italian-inspired Nebula Plaza – a blend of rye whisky, Barolo Chinato, Cynar and Aperol, and the refined Dolce Peccato, with dark rum, pear coulis, nectar and saffron.

The lounge features a private meeting room with customised setups, offering gourmet dining, Italian and international dishes, as well as a selection of premium drinks.

Additional amenities include restrooms and showers with premium toiletries, skincare miniatures, shaving sets, dental kits, hair dryers, plush towels, bathrobes and slippers.

Optional services include ironing, shoeshine and fragrances.

Access is available to all travellers, regardless of airline or class of travel, with multiple entry options via Smart Traveller membership, online pre-booking, or walk-in purchase.
