Plaza Premium Group reinforces Hong Kong leadership team with Michael Yang as General Manager

At the helm in Hong Kong: Michael Yang takes on General Manager role

HONG KONG, CHINA. Plaza Premium Group has named Michael Yang as General Manager for Hong Kong, where he will lead the company’s operations across the market.

In his role, the Hong Kong-based executive will drive commercial performance, oversee operational delivery, and manage relationships with airlines, the airport and key stakeholders, while supporting the execution of group strategy in the city in line with regional and global objectives, the company noted.

With more than a decade at Plaza Premium Group spanning Hong Kong and Mainland China, Yang brings extensive experience across operations, business development and portfolio management.

In his previous role as General Manager – Special Taskforce, he drove strategic expansion initiatives and reinforced partnerships with airport, community and business partners.

Yang also served as Acting General Manager, Hong Kong for Plaza Premium Group, where he oversaw the reopening of lounges and ancillary passenger services following the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this role, he was instrumental in re-engineering operating models and management systems to reinstate service delivery while meeting operational and financial requirements.

Earlier in his career, Yang held positions at the Airport Authority Hong Kong, spanning terminal operations, commercial leasing, landside accessibility, cross-border transportation management and Mainland China airport collaboration initiatives.

Yang holds a Master of Science in Transport and Business Management from Newcastle University, UK, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Air Transport from the Civil Aviation University of China.
