GERMANY. Porsche Design Group has awarded master franchise agreements for Asia and the Middle East to consolidate its international retail expansion.
Franchise partners for Asia are DKSH of Switzerland and ImagineX of Hong Kong. Dubai-based BinHendi Enterprises will be the franchise partner for the United Arab Emirates and India, while Jashanmal & Partners will be the partner for Kuwait.
Together with the Swiss trading conglomerate DKSH, Porsche Design will strengthen its presence in Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea and Japan. The DKSH group, which has been operating in Asia for 150 years, is one of the largest privately-owned companies in Switzerland and has more than 240 branches in 35 countries.
ImagineX will be responsible for Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. The group is one of the best-known franchise partners for international luxury brands in these countries.
Two master franchise agreements have been concluded with BinHendi Enterprises – a company that has worked for Porsche Design in the UAE since the 1980s. In addition to the UAE, BinHendi will develop the Indian market. BinHendi has already opened a Porsche Design Store and shop-in-shops in Dubai. The firm, established in 1974 in Dubai, spans fashion, food and beverage, accessories, watches, jewellery and interior furnishings.
A master franchise agreement with Jashanmal & Partners has been concluded for Kuwait. The first Porsche Design Store will open by the end of 2005 in Kuwait City. Jashanmal & Partners was founded in 1919 and is one of the most renowned retail partners in luxury brand retailing.
