LATVIA. Riga Airport has launched a competitive tender for the development of a hotel and office building at RIX Airport City, as it seeks to expand its commercial offer and grow non-aeronautical revenues.
The qualification stage opened today (22 September), covering two plots on the airport estate.
A 1.2-hectare site is allocated for the construction and operation of a hotel and related infrastructure, while a 0.9-hectare plot is earmarked for an office building and associated infrastructure.
The developments form the first phase of RIX Airport City and are planned for completion by 2030.
Through the tender process, Riga Airport aims to identify the development solution that best meets its commercial requirements while creating new facilities for passengers and businesses.
The project forms part of the airport’s wider strategy to diversify revenues and develop RIX Airport City as a commercial destination alongside its core aviation operations. ✈
