GERMANY. Munich Airport’s upcoming “˜openairport’ event is set to be the first rock and pop music festival ever staged at a major European airport.
Held on the weekend of 19 and 20 July, the inaugural event will take place at the roofed-in, open-air Munich Airport Center Forum.
For two days, music fans and air travellers alike will have free admission to hear bands from all over Germany performing music ranging from hip-hop and funk to ska and reggae.
The music kicks off on 19 July (Saturday) at 12 noon and 20 July (Sunday) at 1pm, and on both days the show will go on until 9pm.
Slated to play at openairport are the following bands:
• La Brass Banda (from Chiemgau)
• Porch (Altmühltal)
• The Lymbique (Nuremberg/Eichstätt)
• Toni L & The Safarisounds (Heidelberg)
• Hesslers (Mannheim)
• Alin Coen (Berlin), Monopol (Hamburg)
• Jerobeam (Hamburg)
• Santeria & The Porn Horns (Munich).
