Ruskova Vodka set for rollout in Latin America

US. Ruskova Vodka, positioned as “˜the world’s only value-priced genuine Russian vodka’, will soon be available in Latin America, with duty free a key target market.

The brand is owned by Russian entrepreneur Oleg Lazanovitch, who saw an opportunity to replicate Ruskova’s emergence in the US. Vodka has had a growth rate of over +5% in South America over the last five years, largely stimulated by the growing perception of vodka as an upscale and fashionable beverage. The Just Drinks Global Market Review of Vodka – Forecasts to 2013 indicated that the prominent growth in the vodka category in Latin America was primarily driven by affluent Latin American consumers, spurred by an interest in premium and even ultra-premium brands.

Lazanovitch is now in negotiations to list Ruskova in duty free shops throughout Latin America and onboard cruise ships travelling to the area.

Ruskova is already enjoying popularity with Latin consumers in Puerto Rico, said the company, where it has been sold in the country’s number one chain, SuperMax.

Making its debut in the US in 2007, Ruskova is produced and bottled in a state-of-the-art distillery in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. First imported into Florida and Georgia, Ruskova is said to have quickly outsold many long established brands. Since then, Ruskova has won several awards including the Double Gold Medal in the 2009 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the 2009 Rising Stars Award by the Beverage Information group, and Impact Magazine‘s Hot Prospects Award for 2008.

Ruskova Vodka is produced using only the finest grain and pure water from underground springs. The traditional distilling process uses a “˜Pot Still’, which is the same method used to create single malt Scotch whiskies and small batch bourbons.
