UK. Russ Berrie is now promoting its range of winter plush, which it claims is ideal for retailing over the festive season and into the New Year.
The highlight for 2010/2011 is Aspin Bear, a soft and cuddly 24-inch (60.9cm) plush complete with winter bow, along with Bryce Bear with his red bow and Mini Bears from the past. There is also a range of plush cats and dogs with various bows.
“Rather than accessorise the collection with Santa hats or reindeer antlers, we decided to keep to a more general winter look using red and tartan bows,” said Russ Berrie Duty Free Manager Lee Caddick. “This gives them a longer shelf life as they can be sold well into the New Year.”
However, more festive looks are also available. These include a range of Peepers Cats and Dogs with Santa hats and scarves and reindeer antlers, as well as Shelbie and Sheckie Peepers turtles, also with Santa and winter hats.
Other popular lines including Luvvies and L’il Softies are also extended with seasonal items for the festive season.
“Sales over the winter and festive period are always busy and stocks are limited, so retailers should ensure they secure sufficient product well in advance,” added Caddick.
