RUSSIA. Leading premium vodka brand Russian Standard has named Dmitry Shirshov as its new Vice President of Marketing & Sales. Shirshov will be responsible for key marketing initiatives and sales development for the Russian Standard Vodka portfolio of brands – Russian Standard Original, Russian Standard Platinum and Imperia – as well as for the premium brands imported into Russia by the company’s distribution arm, Roust Inc.
Shirshov’s primary duties will involve integrating the group’s marketing efforts and developing a consistent sales system across Russian Standard’s global footprint.

Before joining Russian Standard, Shirshov worked for three years as Brand Development Director at Scottish & Newcastle, where most recently he was responsible for the international business development of the S&N cider portfolio (Strongbow, Bulmers) and Foster’s European brand management.
He also served as Brand Development Director responsible for the Asian region of S&N (including China, India, Vietnam) from 2005-2006. From 2002-2005, Shirshov worked as Marketing Director of VENA Brewery – part of Baltic Beverages Holding. In addition to that role, in 2005 Shirshov served as a Project Team Leader during the consolidation project of the Russian business of BBH into a single structure under Baltika Brewing Company.
He also served as Sales & Marketing Manager of Baltic Beverages for Russia in 2001-2002. His earlier work included marketing roles at Mars and RJR Tobacco.
Dmitry Shirshov has a degree in Economics from Moscow State University and an MBA from The Ohio State University.
Russian Standard Vodkas are currently available in over 50 markets worldwide. In the last year Russian Standard Vodka has launched in key new markets such as Greece, Ireland, France and the UK. Additional launches are planned throughout Asia and South America in 2008.
