Italian eyewear house Safilo Group has signed an exclusivity agreement with Bollé Brands to acquire sports/outdoor and high-end US eyewear brands SPY+ and Serengeti.

Completion of the proposed transaction is subject to consultation with the relevant authorities and customary closing conditions.

According to the company, the deal will expand its footprint in high-growth categories and support its home brands Smith, Carrera, Polaroid and Blenders.

Sports and outdoor eyewear brand SPY+ is expected to complement Safilo’s existing offer through Smith in particular. The brand has built strong credibility among athletes and consumers, supported by a well-established direct-to-consumer business, noted Safilo.

Serengeti’s premium positioning blends performance, innovation and luxury cues and will strengthen Safilo’s presence in the high-end eyewear category. The brand is recognised for its mineral lens technology and American heritage.

Combined, SPY+ and Serengeti generated sales of around US$39 million in 2025.

Safilo’s portfolio encompasses several home brands (Carrera, Polaroid, Smith, Blenders, Privé Revaux and Seventh Street) and multiple licensed brands, including Boss, Carolina Herrera, Kate Spade New York, Marc Jacobs, Missoni, Tommy Hilfiger and the perpetual licence for Eyewear by David Beckham.
