US. Samsonite Black Label, the fashion-inspired upscale collection from US travel bag giant Samsonite, previewed its latest collections at the leading men’s fashion exhibition Pitti Immagine Uomo in Florence, Italy, last month.
Among the products on display at the trade fair were:
– Samsonite Black Label by Alexander McQueen collection in a new colourway;
– Signat Attaché men’s fashion accessory, a re-edition of the 1960s executive business attaché case;
– Samsonite Black Label Resort, a soft leather weekend bag collection;
– Launch of Autumn/Winter 2008 Samsonite Black Label Shoes in this season’s colours black, brown and grey.
Additionally, new colours and styles were shown for Samsonite Black Label Couture, offering sophisticated travellers the opportunity to create their own set of personalised travel pieces.
For business people, Samsonite Black Label Opto is a new premium business collection “where intelligent thinking is fitted as standard, delivering a range of clever features and options for the business traveller”, according to the company.

Samsonite Black Label Alta is described as a new, ultra-tough hardsided collection, combining the latest in technology with luxury and style, the firm said.
Samsonite Black Label Waifer & Concertine is dubbed “a chic way of bringing back your new purchases in compact and stylish luggage”. Concertine is inspired by the classic concertina musical instrument, so that its trademark stylish folds remain visible. Waifer is able to roll up when packed, and then unrolls to reveal a stylish hold-all. Both collections pack flat.
During the Pitti Uomo event, Samsonite Black Label’s “Style on the Move” advertising campaign scooped the Condé Nast Traveller Innovation and Design Award.
