US.The City of San Antonio is seeking operators for two concession opportunities at San Antonio International Airport.
The first opportunity is a retail concession for terminal one, located in a 849 sq ft (79sq m) space in the central retail court, airside. The airport authority is seeking a retailer offering men and women’s clothing and accessories plus several other product lines that would be considered acceptable uses of the store: sunglasses, home furnishings, confectionery, children’s clothing, educational toys, bath and beauty and spa products.
This store joins an area of the terminal known as Shops at River Landing, which has been recently rebuilt with other new outlets recently opened for Swatch, In Celebration of Golf, Stars of San Antonio, Simply Books and Texas Executive (a fine cigars, leathergoods, wine, crystal and gifts concept).
Last year terminal one, where Southwest Airlines is the dominant carrier, handled 4.5 million passengers. The duty free concession of Duty Free Americas was renewed earlier this year (The Moodie Report, 18 June 2003).
The second opportunity is the vending operation for the airport and surrounding city offices.
Interested parties should contact Westfield Concession Management at telephone +1 210 828 0333 or email aviation@sanantonio.gov for a copy of the Request for Proposals package. The pre-submission meeting is scheduled for 11.00am on 19 November in the Aviation Department conference room on the mezzanine level, terminal one. Due date for proposals is 19 December at 2.00pm local time.
San Antonio is coming to the end of the third phase of the Shops at River Landing concession redevelopment. The plan adds 10,000sq ft (929sq m) to the existing 30,000sq ft (2,788sq m) of concession space, with a new food court.
