Timex’s first collection for Versace (clockwise from top): Character Domino, Character Tonneau, Versace DV one and Versace Landmark Round | |
US/ITALY. Timex, the US’s largest watch company, has introduced its first collection for Versace since it signed a licensing deal to manufacture and distribute the Italian watch brand late in 2004.
The new collection of Swiss-made Versace Precious Items watches includes:
DV one: The DV one watch features an innovative case and bracelet in shiny ceramic. The model is anti-scratch and hypo-allergenic and is available in jet-black or ice-white. The bezel is also made of ceramic – said to be a first in the watch industry – and embellished with Versace’s Greek fret in relief. The DV one watch is also available with details picked out in rose gold and studded with 148 diamonds. The bottom of the case is personalised with the edition number and Versace’s logo in relief. The crown is gold-plated with the Medusa head in relief. The dial is black or white with gold plated details and Roman numerals. The inner part of the dial has a guillochè motif and an inset indicating the date at three o’clock. The bracelet of the unisex, automatic and waterproof watch is closed by a two-button buckle adorned with the Versace logo.
Character Domino: The retro-look unisex watch is described as understated yet stylish. With its elongated shape, its rectangular stainless-steel case and rounded corners, the Domino has sharp Roman numerals marking the hours in relief, vividly standing out against the dial’s dark guillochè or white background. The calfskin bracelet is available in amaranth-red or black. The Domino is also available with a stainless-steel bracelet. The Medusa symbol is propped on the crown and on the bracelet.
Character Tonneau: The squared-off stainless-steel case features hidden, polished curves and glazed surfaces. Versace’s Roman numerals in relief mark the hours on the off-white dial. On the dial, a square inset at six o’clock indicates the date. The hands are treated with Tritium for a luminous effect in the dark and the anti-reflex sapphire glass on the case is slightly curved. Available with stainless steel bracelet or mock-crocodile strap in black or dark brown. Versace’s Medusa head is positioned on the crown.
Landmark Round: The circular steel case is offset by the stylised Greek frets framed on the sides of the case. The friezes are interposed on the steel bracelet, creating a continuous design. Versace’s Medusa head is on both the crown and the dial. The Medusa is positioned on the dial at 12 o’clock. The hours are clearly marked on the black or off-white dial, which features an inset with a smaller, round dial. The inset dial has a grosgrain, en relief effect. The Landmark Round is available in both men’s and women’s versions and in a bi-colour version, with gold-plated bezel and crown, and with or without diamonds.
