Shenzhen Duty Free Group captures Shekou Cruise Port arrivals concession

CHINA. Shenzhen Duty Free Group has won the arrivals duty-free concession at Shekou Cruise Center Port in Shenzhen, Guangdong province. The 112sq m concession is located on the first floor of the arrivals hall.

The retailer, which already operates the departures duty-free store at the same location, said the win further strengthens its presence at Shekou Cruise Center and in the port business.

The store, which trades under the Times DF branding, builds on Shenzhen Duty Free’s 40-year track record in port retail

Located in the Qianhai-Shekou Free Trade Zone, Shekou Cruise Center is a key maritime travel hub connecting Shenzhen with Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and the broader Greater Bay Area, serving both ferry and cruise passengers.

Shenzhen Duty Free Group said its long-running presence at Shekou Cruise Center and its 40-year-long port retail experience has helped it form a solid customer base and deep management expertise, alongside a clear understanding of traveller needs.

The group plans to leverage its brand resources, membership scheme and logistics capabilities to tailor the store offerings to the “high-frequency, high-speed and diverse” travel patterns of passengers, it said. It also plans to optimise the product mix and store layout to deliver an “efficient, convenient shopping experience”.

“This win helps reinforce the Shekou Cruise Center’s commercial facilities while advancing Shenzhen’s goal of becoming a consumption hub with global influence,” the group said in a statement.

“It will support the port economy, enhance the Center’s commercial functions and encourage consumption repatriation through its high-quality offerings and services.” 🛳️
