SOUTH KOREA. Shinsegae Duty Free is set to roll out its Airport Pick-up Service for VIP customers on 13 July, featuring chauffeur-driven transfers to and from the airport.

Available to customers travelling through Incheon International and Gimpo International airports, the programme enables pre-booked pick-up and drop-off between home and the airport at a preferred time for both departures and arrivals.

The service is delivered through an exclusive partnership with LANE4 Company, marking what the retailer described as the first collaboration of its kind in Korean travel retail. LANE4 is licensed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and serves as a dedicated VIP transportation partner for global airlines.

The initiative reflects Shinsegae Duty Free’s strategy to extend its premium membership benefits beyond shopping, enhancing convenience for VIP customers who frequently travel by air while strengthening membership loyalty through tier-specific privileges.

Customer research conducted ahead of the launch highlighted strong demand for airport transfer services among the retailer’s VIP members. Respondents identified home-to-airport pick-up and drop-off as one of the most attractive membership benefits beyond purchase-based incentives.

Findings also revealed that customers highly value time efficiency and reduced travel fatigue in airport transfer experiences.

The service will be offered to Shinsegae Duty Free’s highest membership tiers, S.VIP and VIP, through mobility service vouchers.

To use the service, customers can access vouchers via the coupon section under the ‘My Page’ menu on the online store before making a reservation.

The platform allows customers to select vehicle type, pick-up time, flight details and terminal information, designed to align with their travel schedule.

Vehicle options include premium sedans and vans, selected based on passenger numbers and luggage requirements.

The system integrates flight information via API to provide real-time updates, including delays. Through LANE4 Company’s operating platform, pick-up and drop-off schedules adjust automatically to flight changes.

Shinsegae Duty Free will collect customer feedback after launch, covering booking, routing and the in-vehicle experience, to guide further service enhancements.

The retailer also outlined plans for a phased expansion to hotel-to-airport transfers for international customers, while further enhancing its premium membership benefits to reflect evolving customer needs.

A Shinsegae Duty Free representative said: “The Airport Mobility Service extends one of the aspects customers value most before and after duty free shopping – convenient airport transportation – into a premium membership benefit.

“We will continue listening to our customers and developing differentiated benefits tailored to the needs of each membership tier, further strengthening the value of Shinsegae Duty Free’s premium membership programme.”
