Shiseido expands its skincare portfolio – 22/07/05

JAPAN/EUROPE. Shiseido is preparing to introduce three new lines into the travel retail channel.

Bio-Performance Super Restoring Cream (left), Future Solution Eye and Lip Contour Cream and The Makeup Lifting Foundation will begin rolling out from September.

Bio-Performance Super Restoring Cream – an extension to one of the company’s flagship skincare collections – targets women in their 30s, who are searching for a pro-active solution to ageing.

Described as an all-in-one product, the treatment incorporates both anti-wrinkle and firming properties, according to Shiseido. It can be used as both a day and night cream.

It features “unparalleled age-defying technology”, claims Shiseido, including the Bio-Restoring Complex, described as a contour-recalling ingredient that fills in for skin functions that decline with age.

It is thereby said to offer an alternative to more invasive anti-ageing approaches, such as topical procedures or cosmetic surgery.

Bio-Performance Super-Restoring Cream will be priced in travel retail at about €83.50 for a 50ml pot.

Future Solution Eye and Lip Contour Cream (right) has been designed for the face’s most expressive features, which need extra protection.

Skin around the eye area is thinner and more delicate than anywhere else on the body; while the mouth area is characterised by a lower sebum level and barrier function.

The treatment is said to target the appearance of wrinkles, sagging, dark circles and dryness in both areas. The key ingredients include Yang Tao Leaf Extract, which inhibits the breakdown of collagen, and a vitamin C derivative, which helps to minimise the appearance of dark spots and freckles.

Future Solution Eye and Lip Contour Cream will be priced in travel retail at about €85 for 15ml.

Lastly, Shiseido has revamped the packaging for its Lifting Foundation. The product is claimed to combine colour and treatment in one product.

It is suitable for normal to dry skin, and targets women who are concerned with wrinkles and loss of firmness.

The formulation is said to help diminish the look of fine lines, wrinkles, roughness and dullness, and deliver a lifted, more youthful look with a satin smooth finish.

It is available in six shades.

The 30ml foundation is presented in a pump dispenser, housed in pink outer packaging. It will be priced in travel retail at about €40.50.
