FRANCE. LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton has appointed Frédéric Cuménal president of Moët & Chandon, effective January 2004.
Cuménal – a graduate of Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, ESSEC and Harvard Business School – began his career in sales and marketing at Procter & Gamble, and subsequently worked for Lesieur and Mars.
He joined LVMH in 1995 as European director of Moët & Chandon, and held the position of managing director of Moët Hennessy Europe from 1996 until 1999. Cuménal was named president of Domaine Chandon California in Napa – a vineyard and winery founded by Moët & Chandon – in September 1999.
“I am delighted to join Moët & Chandon, the Champagne leader, and its high performing team, to contribute to its development and international expansion,” commented Cuménal.
Moët Hennessy president Christophe Navarre added: “Cuménal’s mission will be to pursue the development and to strengthen the leadership of Moët & Chandon and Dom Pérignon – star brands of our portfolio.”
