SSP expands in Spain with key food & beverage contract at Menorca Airport – 25/04/07

SPAIN. SSP has won a contract to operate two units at Menorca Airport, taking the total number of Spanish airports at which it operates to eight.

The brands that will feature are Burger King, which is a strong performer in the Spanish market, and Caffè Ritazza, both of which will open in July.

“Our strong commercial proposal combined a reasonable concession fee, a strong brand proposition and our promise of operational excellence. We’re delighted that AENA has recognised this by awarding us the contract, increasing our presence on Spain’s Balearic islands, where we already operate at Palma De Mallorca Airport,” said Domingo Gonzalez, Managing Director of SSP Spain. “We are now focused on our continuing expansion within the Spanish market.”

In addition to these new units on Menorca, SSP also manages food and beverage outlets at Malaga and Alicante on mainland Spain, Canary Island airports Tenerife South, Tenerife North, Las Palmas and Lanzarote.
